Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Abu Simbel – Exploring the Temples of Ramses II

Your Lake Nasser Cruise Egypt begins upon arrival at Abu Simbel Airport or from your hotel in Abu Simbel, where you will be met and escorted to your cruise by private vehicle. After boarding and completing check-in, enjoy lunch onboard before heading out to visit the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples. Carved under Pharaoh Ramses II and later moved in the 1960s to save them after The High Dam Of Egypt project, these temples remain among Egypt’s most extraordinary achievements. Admire the grandeur of the Great Temple and then visit the smaller temple dedicated to Queen Nefertari. Back on the ship, unwind with afternoon tea on the sundeck while taking in the lake scenery. Dinner is served onboard, followed by your first night on the cruise.

Day 2: Sail to Kasr Ibrim – Visit Amada, Derr & Tomb of Pennut

After breakfast, the cruise sets course northward. From the sundeck, take in the striking silhouette of Kasr Ibrim—an ancient Nubian stronghold that now rises above the water like an island since the formation of Lake Nasser. Although visits ashore are not allowed, the view from the vessel is ideal for photos. Later, go ashore for three notable discoveries: the Amada Temple, renowned as the oldest monument in the Lake Nasser region and celebrated for its well-preserved inscriptions; the Temple of Derr, a rock-cut sanctuary built by Ramses II; and the Tomb of Pennut, an uncommon example of a viceroy’s tomb that was relocated to protect it from flooding. Return to the ship for lunch, then enjoy an evening cocktail reception and a Nubian cultural show onboard. Overnight as the cruise continues sailing toward Wadi El Seboua.
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3: Discover Wadi El Seboua Temples – Sail to Aswan

Begin early with a visit to Wadi El Seboua, meaning the “Valley of the Lions,” famous for monuments rescued and relocated away from the rising waters. Walk along the avenue lined with sphinxes leading toward the temple built by Amenhotep III and dedicated to the Nubian Horus. Continue with visits to the Temple of Dakka, noted for its astronomical inscriptions, and the nearby Temple of Maharraqa. After the tour, return to the ship for lunch and sail onward to Aswan City. The remainder of the day is free to relax onboard as you glide over the calm waters of Lake Nasser. Overnight onboard near Aswan.

Day 4: Visit Kalabsha Temple – Disembark in Aswan

Following breakfast, disembark for a guided tour of the Temple of Kalabsha, a remarkable free-standing monument on Lake Nasser. Dating to the Roman period and dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis, the temple displays an intriguing mix of Egyptian tradition and Greco-Roman elements. From the area, enjoy views toward the Aswan High Dam. After the visit, check out and transfer to your hotel or Aswan Airport, marking the end of your Lake Nasser Cruise Egypt.
